Two vehicles collided on Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa this afternoon, sending three people to the hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened at about 2:15 p.m. south of Paalaa Road near the North Shore Smoke Shop, police said.

Paramedics treated and took 3 people — a 17-year-old boy, a 26-year-old woman, and a 28-year-old man — to the hospital in serious condition, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

Police closed Kamehameha Highway following the crash until the road could be cleared. 

The highway reopened by about 3:30 p.m.
