No. 8 Hawaii sweeps CSUN in volleyball

Junior hitter Nikki Taylor put down 14 kills and No. 8 Hawaii had 14 blocks in Friday night’s 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 sweep of CSUN, a Big West volleyball match watched by 5,560 at the Stan Sheriff Center. 

Senior hitter Tai Manu-Olevao added 10 kills and sophomore libero Savanah Kahakai 14 digs as the Rainbow Wahine (15-1, 5-0) won their 10th straight. Senior middle Olivia Magill was in on eight blocks for the Hawaii, the top blocking team in the country.

No Big West team has scored more than 20 points in a set on Hawaii this season.

Cieana Stinson Aeryn Owens led the Matadors (4-15, 3-2) with nine kills each.
