Teams of advertising industry professionals will compete to develop marketing campaigns for nonprofit organizations in the second annual Ad Up Hawaii event staged by Kokua.org.
Six teams will work for seven hours to create a campaign that will be judged by a panel of business and marketing professionals.
The nonprofit organizations for which the campaigns will be created are Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, Blue Water Mission/Seed Restaurant, Easter Seals Hawaii, Family Promise of Hawaii, Help Understanding & Group Support (HUGS), and Helping Hands Hawaii.
The nonprofits will also participate in marketing and technology workshops led by Bernard Uy, co-founder and creative director of Wall-to-Wall Studios, by Wilbur Wong, director of digital communications for Becker Communications Inc., and by a panel of media professionals.
The workshops are free to the participating nonprofits, but also are open to the public with a $10 admission fee. Registration information is available online at http://www.aduphawaii.com/.
The event is to begin at 8 a.m. Oct. 17 at The BoxJelly at 307 Kamani St. in Kakaako.
