Scott Glenn, a former Hawaii Sierra Club official, was appointed director of the state Office of Environmental Quality Control by Gov. David Ige on Thursday.
Glenn will replace former state Rep. Jessica Wooley, whose term ended June 30. Wooley had served on a monthly basis since Ige took office in January.
Glenn is leaving his position as environmental planner at Cardno, an environmental engineering firm, where he has worked since 2010. He served as vice chairman and past chairman of the Sierra Club’s Hawaii chapter and holds the same positions on the state Environmental Council.
Glenn earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and classical archaeology from the University of Evansville and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Hawaii. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
