Police are still looking for the gunman in the attempted murder in Waianae of a 25-year-old man last month, but the victim’s former co-worker was charged Friday for his role in the violent incident.
Ranier Ines, 42, was charged with first-degree robbery and kidnapping. His bail was set at $500,000. Police said Ines is affiliated with a prison gang.
Still unknown is the identity of the shooter in the attempted murder of Kele Stout, who was left in critical condition. At about 7:20 p.m. Sept. 16, Stout drove himself to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and collapsed after arriving, police said. Stout had more than five gunshot wounds, police said.
Stout was in a coma and could not identify the shooter. In early October police asked for the public’s help in a CrimeStoppers bulletin.
Police released a sketch of the suspect in the attempted murder. Stout this week was able to identify Ines, who was arrested in Waianae at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said Stout and Ines worked together at a countertop manufacturing company before the shooting.
