A 32-year-old Lahaina woman is in critical condition at Maui Memorial Medical Center where she was taken Sunday night after the car she was driving collided with another car.
Maui police said the collision occurred at 5:52 p.m. Sunday on Honoapiilani Highway, half a mile south of Pohaku Aeko Street in Lahaina.
The Lahaina resident was driving a blue Toyota Corolla and attempted to cross the southbound lane of the Honoapiilani Highway from the southbound shoulder in order to head north.
The Toyota was broadsided by a silver Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 28-year-old Kahului man who was driving south.
The driver of the 4Runner was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
