Deputy sheriff’s stolen vehicle recovered by police

Honolulu Police recovered a deputy sheriff’s personal vehicle that was stolen in the Keeaumoku Street area at about 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The deputy’s badge, airport badge, identification card and uniform shirt were inside the vehicle’s trunk, but no firearms were taken,a Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said.

The off-duty deputy noticed his vehicle missing from the Keeaumoku Street area about 6 a.m. Tuesday and reported it to police, said Toni Schwartz, Public Safety spokeswoman.

Police recored the vehicle in Moanalua this afternoon, Schwartz said in an email. 

No information was available on the other items, Schwartz said.
