The Kahala Hotel & Resort is starting a wine class featuring Patrick Okubo, one of three master sommeliers in Hawaii.
Okubo will kick off the monthly event ThursdayNov. 19 with four premium wines from Sonoma County that guests will taste and evaluate.

Thanksgiving drive to collect cans, money
The Salvation Army is accepting canned food and monetary donations Saturday for its Thanksgiving Food Collection Drive.

Class teaches dishes for vegetarian holiday
Chef Alyssa Moreau is back at The Green House Saturday to share more vegetarian recipes.
The menu: chestnut rice, roasted squash filled with pomegranate cranberry sauce and roasted pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin pecan crunch.
