Lanes reopened on H-1 eastbound after crane hits Gulick overpass

Workers on the h-1 freeway inspected damage to the gulick avenue overpass in Kalihi after a crane being carried on a truck struck the overpass at 10:15 a.m. Monday. Traffic backed up as two eastbound lanes were closed during the inspection. both lanes were reopened by 1:30 p.m.

The two left eastbound lanes on the H-1 freeway have been reopened after a truck with a crane hit the Gulick Avenue overpass this morning.

The Department of Transportation reported that the accident occurred at 8:15 a.m.

The lanes were reopened around 10:46 a.m.

A similar accident closed traffic in the same area last week. On Nov. 16, a crane hit the Gulick Avenue overpass. Two lanes of the freeway were closed for about four hours to evaluate damage and clean debris on the roadway.
