Firefighters are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire that gutted a garage Tuesday in Liliha. Thirty-five firefighters responding to the blaze in the 1600 block of Olona Lane at about 3:35 p.m. contended with heavy smoke and flames coming from the two-story home’s garage, said Honolulu fire Capt. David Jenkins. Five people who had been inside the home when the fire started escaped without injury. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 4:10 p.m. Jenkins said the garage was heavily damaged, but the home was not touched by the fire and the occupants were not displaced. A damage estimate was unavailable.
