Bevy bartender creates cocktail inspired by Darth Vader

It’s tart and dark, with blackberries, sage and a dash of straight rye whiskey.

The Sith Sour, created by Bevy bartender Nick Carter, was inspired by none other than his favorite “Star Wars” character: Darth Vader, whose power comes from the Dark Side of the Force.

It’s available at Bevy by request for $8 to $10, depending on the brand of whiskey. Carter’s choice is Old Overholt, with brown spice notes and a nice, smooth finish.

“It’s a great combo of flavors,” said Carter, 28, a “Star Wars” fan since he was a kid.

In addition to mashed and strained blackberries, Carter added fresh-pressed lemon juice and lemon sour mix, plus egg white for froth and so it goes down silky smooth. Combine and add to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake with all the force you’ve got, pour and garnish with a sage leaf.
