All together now: “There’s no place like home for the holidays … “
That’s certainly an apt song for President Barack Obama, who has spent Christmas in his Honolulu hometown every year that he’s been commander in chief.
It’ll be no different this year, with the White House confirming that Obama and his family will be leaving D.C. Friday night for their annual vacation here.
If this trip stays true to form, expect portions of Kailua to be blocked off for security purposes around their rented vacation home, his motorcade around town en route to dinner, and a Christmas Day visit to the troops at Kaneohe’s Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Oh, and shave ice, of course.
Aloha, Mr. President.
