Man convicted of trafficking meth to Hawaii from California
A jury has convicted a Honolulu man of trafficking methamphetamine.
Federal prosecutors announced Monday that the jury found Gilbert Lee Medina guilty of the meth trafficking charge and unlawfully possessing a firearm.
Prosecutors say Medina was at the center of a large-scale meth trafficking conspiracy and was responsible for than 20 pounds of the drug being brought to Hawaii from California. He has previous felony convictions and was prohibited from possessing a firearm, which prosecutors say he kept on his boat docked at Ala Wai harbor.
Jurors also found him guilty of attempting to enter a secure area of the Honolulu International Airport. Prosecutors say he tried to use false identification in an effort to flee Hawaii.
The 52-year-old faces up to life in prison when he’s sentenced in March.

The Feds do not mess around. If this were in state court, he would already be out. Feds have no probation. This dude is done. I wish we could get hold of the other people shipping deadly meth in here and just killing Hawaiian and other families.
allie, I am working with Mr.Donald Trump for US President and part of our plan is to establish thorough inspection systems coming into Hawaii whether they are foreign or domestic. Mexico and China will face commercial sanctions if they don’t stop drug supplies from Mexican Drug Cartels such the Sinaloa Cartel and China the TRIAD. Trade Sanctions = Tariffs will be applied from the beginning – Feb. 2017 – in order to help -&- assist Local Law Enforcement Agencies -&- Rehab Centers. But what Trump and I want is what YOU want – and that is for it to stop completely. Everyone should know that Drug Pushers whether they are pushing Heroin from Afghanistan – Mexico or Meth from China or the USA – prey on people, and use several aspects of pressure – bullying – group pressure – violence, etc. Many young people don’t have the Leadership or the physical ability to stop this. So we will give them a chance. Rewards will be paid to those who offer up critical information on criminal operations. Those that do will be protected 100%. Drug Criminals: Off Island prison sentences – life sentences will be mandatory for smugglers and for drug bosses and at some point the death penalty will be applied. In the beginning you could see a sweep of Criminal Gangs in Hawaii, their assets investigated, they will be tested for drug use, their communication systems given to the FBI. Once they have been found to be involved in illegal drug operations – they will be removed from the Islands. They will NEVER be allowed to return. If someone has been entrapped by these criminals we will work with them to overcome that aspect. We understand violence and intimidation can play a role. Have lived in Hawaii many times, with the Hind Family of the Big Island – the Liljestrand Family of Oahu and Maui and the French Family on Kauai. Mr.Trump and I respect the Hawaiian Culture very very much and will work to preserve its culture and protect families from all aspects of illegal drugs. That is a promise!
