Police have charged a 23-year-old Ewa Beach man and an 18-year-old woman with assault in connection with an attempted robbery at an ABC store in Waikiki.
At about 4:38 p.m. Tuesday, police said, Tyrone Britt and Joanna Soria, who provided no local address, entered a store at 160 Liliuokalani Ave. and took items without paying. Physical force was used during the theft.
At about 4:50 p.m. Honolulu Police Department officers arrested the suspects on suspicion of second-degree robbery. Both were charged with third-degree assault. Bail for Britt and Soira was set at $2,000 and $1,500 respectively.
Teen accused in attempted car theft
A 16-year-old boy was charged with offenses tied to an apparent attempt to steal a car in Kalihi.
Police said a 33-year-old man saw the boy reach into a parked vehicle driver’s-side door while a 17-year-old girl stood nearby as a lookout shortly after 12:20 p.m. Monday. When the man confronted the suspects, the boy allegedly struck him with an object.
Officers located the suspects after a brief search in the area. The boy was charged with second-degree unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and third-degree assault. The girl was released pending investigation.
