The three-day session is part of an annual program organized by the YMCa to help students gain leadership experience and an understanding of the political process. This year, 77 students will act as elected officials and press corps members. During the session, they will draft and introduce bills and debate whether those bills merit passage. The exercise will culminate with Youth Gov. Risa Higa either signing bills into law or vetoing them. Left, Higa swears in the youth legislators.
