Man gets more than 17 years for meth dealing

A 30-year-old man was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in prison on charges related to distributing substantial amounts of pure and nearly pure methamphetamine.

Latunina Pohahau was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Derrick K. Watson on charges of conspiring to distribute 20 pounds of “almost pure” methamphetamine in 2013. Pohahau pled guilty on Sept. 5.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Pohahau offered to sell meth for $15,000 per pound to a Drug Enforcement Administration source on Aug. 14, 2013. The next day in Mililani he delivered 10 pounds of 99 percent pure methamphetamine to the source cooperating with the DEA. On Sept. 4, 2013, Pohahau was stopped by DEA agents and the Honolulu Police Department officers on Ward Avenue as he was headed to a meeting with the DEA source. Ten pounds of 100 percent pure methamphetamine were discovered in the automobile Pohahau was riding in.

Al Hee gets about 4 years and this dealer gets a major portion of his life swiped of 17 years. US justice is so illogical. Hee should have gotten life until he returned the money and the dealer dealer life 17 times. Makes me admire corrupt and third world countries like China and Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia.

Hee gets less than four years for taking other people’s money. This guy gets 17 years for giving people what they want. Where’s the justice in that?

“The next day in Mililani he delivered 10 pounds of 99 percent pure.” “Ten pounds of 100 percent pure methamphetamine were discovered in the automobile” ??? Albeit, it’s only a 1 percent difference–where’s the accuracy? Which is it?

In Iraq, he would have been stoned to death at dusk.
