Fire damaged the rooftop of a building under construction on Keawe Street today.
The fire, reported shortly after 4 p.m. at 400 Keawe St., caused $500 in damage to the structure and $3,000 to its contents.
Fire investigators traced the fire to pre-heated spray-on roofing material.
Workers at the site initially fought the fire with fire extinguishers until firefighters arrived.
The fire was brought under control by 4:26 p.m. and extinguished by 4:36 p.m.
