Hawaiian had ranked second in October, 11th in September and third in August. The airline has now been first in six of the 11 months reported so far in 2015. Hawaiian led all carriers in on-time performance from 2004 through 2014.
“November’s exceptional results reflect the hard work of our employees and our collective commitment to bring guests to their destination on schedule,” Hawaiian President and CEO Mark Dunkerley said. “We remain dedicated to continue providing the reliable on-time service our customers have come to expect of us.”
Dunkerley previously said the airline slipped from first place in August and September because of congestion due to construction at Honolulu Airport, increased flights and passenger traffic that resulted in a shortage of gates, delays in processing passengers through customs and immigration during the midmorning peak, and operational stoppages due to lightning strikes at airports throughout the state.
Hawaiian also scored well with fewest flight cancellations in November, ranking second with 0.1 percent of flights. That represented five cancellations out of 6,024 flights.
In other categories, Hawaiian ranked sixth for fewest mishandled-baggage reports with 2.51 per 1,000 passengers, and sixth for fewest consumer complaints with 0.72 per 100,000 passengers.
