A pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident fronting Maui Marketplace in Kahului on Friday night has been identified as Adam Riley of Oceanside, Calif., Maui police said Tuesday.

The 41-year-old Riley was walking outside a crosswalk across Dairy Road at 9:24 p.m. Friday when he was struck by the truck going north on the road about 115 feet south of Ohekani Street, police said.

The pickup truck, described as a midsized pickup which sustained front end damages and a broken headlight, fled the area headed continuing north on Dairy Road.

The man was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition and later died.
