Pedestrian killed in Kahului hit-and-run crash is identified
A pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident fronting Maui Marketplace in Kahului on Friday night has been identified as Adam Riley of Oceanside, Calif., Maui police said Tuesday.
The 41-year-old Riley was walking outside a crosswalk across Dairy Road at 9:24 p.m. Friday when he was struck by the truck going north on the road about 115 feet south of Ohekani Street, police said.
The pickup truck, described as a midsized pickup which sustained front end damages and a broken headlight, fled the area headed continuing north on Dairy Road.
The man was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition and later died.

Maui is fast becoming like the island of O’ahu. Very busy. Have to up my guard for safety reasons.
