Police: Man killed woman who rejected his advances at a bar
PITTSBURGH » Police say a Pennsylvania man shot and killed a woman just moments after she rejected his advances at a bar.
Charles McKinney is accused of killing 29-year-old Janese Talton outside a Pittsburgh bar early Friday. Talton is the sister of Pittsburgh Democratic state Rep. Ed Gainey.
Police say McKinney led authorities on a car chase and was shot after his vehicle nearly hit two officers, then sped toward several others.
The 41-year-old Penn Hills man faces charges including homicide and aggravated assault.
McKinney’s attorney tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that police told her he was “extremely intoxicated.” But she says, even so, McKinney doesn’t appear to be the type of person “who would do something like that.”
McKinney has been jailed. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 5.
