Honolulu might not be the best city in which to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but it ranks high enough to earn a bronze medal — only San Francisco and Scottsdale, Ariz., top Honolulu when it comes to Feb. 14. WalletHub ranked the nation’s 100 most populated cities using 15 metrics including restaurant-meal costs to average wine price. However, it’s hard to believe 11 cities are expected to have better weather this Valentine’s Day.
UH baseball has higher bar this season
The heat is on for University of Hawaii baseball coach Mike Trapasso. Both the UH men’s volleyball and basketball teams have been going gangbusters so far this season, hopefully giving Trapasso and his players greater incentive to make their 2016 better than usual.
Since 2002, Trapasso’s overall win-loss record at UH has been barely over .500, though there have been a few good years. Let’s just say he’s lucky Les Murakami Stadium is such a beautiful place to watch baseball.
