LAS VEGAS » Police have made an arrest in a car-to-car shooting just outside the Las Vegas Strip that left two women dead and a man critically wounded.

Omar Talley, 30, was booked Saturday evening at Clark County Detention Center on charges including two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. He also faces six counts each of firing a gun at an occupied vehicle and firing a gun from a vehicle.

Talley and the three who were shot were among several people involved in a fistfight early Friday in a parking garage at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Surveillance video shows someone get into a rental car then fire at least five shots into a Hyundai, police said.

A woman who was a passenger in the Hyundai was found fatally wounded in the roadway about a block from the parking structure, and the Hyundai drove into the nearby valet area of the Cosmopolitan hotel-casino. Inside the car was another woman who was fatally wounded, plus a wounded man.

All three who were shot were taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where the women were pronounced dead and the man underwent surgery. He is listed in critical condition.

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the two women Sunday as Jennifer Margarita Chicas and Melissa Yvette Mendoza. Both were 27 years old and suffered gunshot wounds to the chest.

Police have not determined what prompted the argument. They are still searching for a dark gray 2015 Toyota Camry believed to be connected to the case.

It was not immediately known Sunday if Talley had an attorney.

The shooting came just days after a similar shooting on nearby Tropicana Avenue that hurt two people. No arrests have been made in that case, but police are looking for three women and a man.
