Nate Walker recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists as the Hawaii Hilo men’s basketball team beat Point Loma Nazarene 83-68 on Tuesday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
Ryan Reyes added 15 points and Randan Berinobis added 12 for the Vulcans (9-14, 9-10 PacWest).
Hilo, which trailed by nine points in the first half, held a 46-22 rebounding advantage.
Josh Rodriguez finished with 19 points and eight assists for the Sea Lions (13-12, 8-10).
On Monday, Vulcans forward Salim Gloyd was named PacWest Player of the Week.
The senior scored 69 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in victories over Notre Dame de Namur and Hawaii Pacific.

Scott Friel finished with 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Seasiders (14-10, 11-8 PacWest), while Tanner Nelson had 13 points, Justin Yamzon added 11 and Justin Park contributed 10.
Connor Peterson finished with 16 points for the Cougars (19-7, 13-5).
Mancera’s late layup lifts Hilo women
Vanessa Mancera hit the go-ahead layup with 15 seconds remaining as the Hawaii Hilo women’s basketball team beat Point Loma Nazarene 54-51 on Tuesday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
Mancera, who finished with 11 points, received a pass from Felicia Kolb, drove past a baseline defender and made the shot to put the Vulcans ahead 52-51.
Hilo’s Lauren Hong hit a pair of free throws with three seconds left for the final margin.
Hong finished with 14 points and nine rebounds and Kim Schmelz also scored 14 points for the Vulcans (10-14, 10-9 PacWest), who scored the first 17 points of the game.
Madison West scored 19 points for the Sea Lions (17-9, 10-8).

The Seasiders fell to 11-13, 8-11 PacWest.
Kelly Hardeman led the Cougars (23-3, 17-1) with 23 points and seven rebounds.
UH women’s volleyball to host Iowa State
Hawaii, coming off an elite eight appearance in last year’s NCAA women’s volleyball tournament, will host Iowa State in a spring exhibition match at 7 p.m. on March 18 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Wahine (29-2, 16-0 Big West) lost to Minnesota in the regional final in Des Moines, Iowa. The Cyclones (19-11, 11-5 Big 12) were eliminated in the NCAA second round by Wisconsin.
This will be the first meeting between Hawaii and Iowa State. Tickets are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and $6 for students ages 4 through high school.

HPU inducts five into Hall of Fame
Hawaii Pacific University inducted five into its athletics Hall of Fame during the 2016 S.H.A.R.X. Benefit on Tuesday night at the school’s Aloha Tower Marketplace campus.
The inductees were former men’s tennis player Jan Tribler; the 1998 women’s volleyball NCAA championship team; former HPU pitcher and head baseball coach Allan Sato; former softball standout Lisa Shandy; and former athletic administrator Jim Hochberg, who was inducted posthumously.
