Police charged a 35-year-old Wahiawa man with misdemeanor abuse Thursday after he allegedly assaulted a woman and took her property using force.
Police arrested Moses Kerisiano at 1:50 a.m. Thursday at his Wahiawa home.
The 34-year-old woman said that after taking her property, he prevented her from calling 911. Police said the incident occurred in the presence of a child under the age of 14.
The suspect was identified and arrested for investigation of second-degree robbery, abuse of a family or household member and interference with reporting a 911 emergency.
Police dropped the robbery and interference offenses and charged Kerisiano with misdemeanor abuse. Bail was set at $2,000.
Woman charged in forgery of 3 checks
A 24-year-old Kaneohe woman has been charged with forging three checks and receiving thousands in cash, police said.
Jean Savaii was charged Monday with 10 felonies, including forgery, identity theft and theft. Her bail is $25,000.
Police said Savaii received more than $4,000 in cash after cashing three checks at three separate banks Dec. 3. The checks had been stolen from an 83-year-old man during a burglary.
Savaii was identified through surveillance video and arrested at about 7:05 a.m. Sunday.
