It took firefighters five minutes to extinguish a fire in dumpster and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures in the Keeaumoku area this morning.

The fire was extinguished after the firefighters responded to the call at 5:58 a.m. from workers at a nightclub at 1360 S. Beretania St. saw the flames.

The wall of a building adjacent to the dumpster suffered minor damage, the fire department said.
