Visitor dies after swim at Maui beach
A 66-year-old man from Redmond, Wash., died Thursday after getting in trouble while swimming at a Kahana beach, the Maui Fire Department said in a news release.
Emergency crews responded at 2:17 p.m. Thursday to reports of people helping a swimmer in the ocean fronting Kuleana Resort, 3959 Lower Honoapiilani Road, fire officials said.
A good Samaritan saw the man in trouble and swam out to help, while another went out on a surfboard to help, officials said. But the man fell unconscious before they got to him. They tried to revive the man as he lay on a surfboard 100 yards offshore.
Ocean Safety personnel brought the victim and the good Samaritans to shore on rescue watercraft. Paramedics and firefighters continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but the man died at the scene.

That’s so weak. He has a head injury and forgot where he parked his car. What idiot is behind these stupid charges?
Sad. #Kaaihue4Mayor
