Pali Highway will close tonight in Honolulu-bound direction

The Pali Highway will be closed tonight form 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. tomorrow in the Honolulu-bound direction for tunnel cleaning.
The Pali Highway will be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction tonight for routine tunnel cleaning and maintenance, the state Department of Transportation said.
The road will be closed between Kamehameha Highway and Waokanaka Street from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday.
Motorists are advised to use the H-3 Freeway, the Likelike Highway, and Kalanianaole Highway as alternate routes, officials said.

How many times have we heard this, “tunnel closed for cleaning and maintenance” and the next day we drive through it and the graffiti, burned out lights, stained walls, growing weeks, all still there, nothing has changed.
Can’t tell you how many times this went on with the Wilson tunnel, next day I expected to see an upgraded experience only to see nothing was done. So what were workers doing while the tunnel was closed?
They were “doing-Lunch”…
