Dog with no legs leaves Korea for new life in Arizona
PHOENIX >> A dog left for dead in South Korea and had all four legs amputated has found a family in Phoenix.
Chi Chi hit the ground running Saturday at the home of Richard and Elizabeth Howell.
The golden retriever can walk and play fetch like any other dog with the help of prosthetic paws.
She was shepherded over by Los Angeles-based Animal Rescue, Media & Education.
Organization President Shannon Keith says Chi Chi, which means “loving” in Korean, was intended to be slaughtered for food.
But a local animal rescue group found her in a garbage bag with her legs badly infected.

Keith says a veterinarian determined the dog’s legs needed to be amputated.
The Howells say they hope Chi Chi can be a therapy dog that can help amputee patients.

What’s his name? Matt?
Chi Chi
Cannibals.
Care to elaborate on that one?
What? You need an explanation? If yes then guess!
Yah, I need an explanation. Are you afraid to give one?
What a sad story with a happy ending.
dogs are good therapy for humans. training ChiChi to be a therapy dog for amputees is a great thing and no doubt.
phoenix is where i rode a horse with no name.
It’s after reading stories like this one that I kind of miss mikethenovice’s “insights.” But then, I’ve always had a weakness for underdogs so to speak.
Animal cruelty is one of the things that really angers me!! To me ? to treat any animal this way is just, not right!
Animal lovers (My Dogs & Cats) like myself . we all know that, when a Dog Loves you, they Love you Unconditionally….Their Love for you is forever!!This story ended in a good light and I’m just glad a loving owner has found you. Get well Chi-Chi!
