The Hawaii Pacific softball team dropped a doubleheader against Dixie State on Sunday in St. George, Utah.
In the first game, Jessica Gonzalez doubled in Shelby Yung with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in the Red Storm’s 4-3 win.
The Sharks tied it at 3-3 in the seventh on Britney Stevens’ run-scoring single and Kiana Wolfe’s two-run double.
In the second game, Brooklyn Beardshear pitched a three-hitter and Mallory Paulson drove in three runs in Dixie State’s 8-0, six-inning victory.
The Red Storm, who won all four games in the series, improved to 17-7, 5-3 PacWest, while the Sharks fell to 9-15, 5-7.

In the first game, Brenna Mitchell pitched a five-hitter and Jessica West had three hits in the Urban Knights’ 7-2 victory.
The Silverswords’ Chelsea Camello allowed one run — which was unearned — in 61⁄3 innings of relief.
In the second game, Brenna Youngquist batted 4-for-4 with a double, home run and six RBIs and Juliana Lopez scored four runs in Academy of Art’s 14-8 win.
Amber Manuel, Nicole Erichsen and Sierra Mendiola each scored twice for Chaminade.
The Urban Knights improved to 9-10-1, while the Silverswords dropped to 8-14.
Sigall to speak at Honolulu QB Club
Bob Sigall, a marketing professor at Hawaii Pacific University and author of “The Companies We Keep,” will speak at the Honolulu Quarterback Club today at Maple Garden Restaurant.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and costs $16. The public is invited.
