Two people were charged today with arson in connection with a March 3 fire at Hawaii island Drug Court on Halekii Street in Kealakekua.

Randi-Keli Banagan, 24, of Captain Cook was charged Wednesday with first-degree arson, conspiracy to commit arson, first-degree criminal property damage, first-degree terroristic threatening and revocation of probation.

Hawaii island police said 22-year-old Kainoa Lindo of Hōnaunau was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree arson, conspiracy to commit arson, first-degree criminal property damage, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and first-degree terroristic threatening.

They are charged in connection with the fire that was reported at Hawaii island Drug Court at about 7 a.m. March 3, police said. The fire was put out by passersby with fire extinguishers from the court building before police and firefighters arrived. Two employees were in the building at the time but were not injured. Damage was confined to the front door and a wall, police said.

A pickup truck and a sedan seen in the court parking lot were connected to the fire. Police determined that the pickup truck had been stolen on Jan. 29 from the parking lot of an apartment complex on Alii Drive. Police recovered the truck in Hookena on March 8.

Lindo was arrested for car theft on Monday morning and held at the Kona police cellblock while police continued their investigation. On Monday afternoon, Banagan was arrested in connection with a gun threat that occurred Sunday at the scenic lookout off Kamehameha III Road in Keauhou, and also held in custody.

A woman had gotten out of a van and pointed a black handgun at a 17-year-old girl who was accompanied by two other teenagers, police said. A male suspect, whose face was concealed, was holding what was described as a rifle, according to police. The pair fled without further incident, and police said their investigation determined that Lindo was the male suspect.

Lindo’s bail was set at $810,000, while Banagan’s was set at $1 million. Both remain at the cellblock pending their initial court appearance scheduled for Thursday.

Too dangerous to let go alive. Need Dirty Harry rules. Need dirty kine cops who don’t let the silly civil rights laws hinder them from doing their duties to protect the public. Go borrow some Filipino cops if you need help. Still remember how they punish in Singapore when a guy swinging a long sugar cane stalk ran at the American teenager and smote his naked back 10 times for spray painting cars.

..” a 17-year-old girl who was two other teenagers.” This “17 year-old girl” should be a good candidate for the “SyFy” Channel…

They won’t be posting bail for sure.
