Seasiders starter Chelsie Childs Lambert, who allowed two unearned runs, pitched a scoreless seventh.
In the first game, Brenna Mitchell pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and Jessica West batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the Urban Knights’ 8-0 victory.
BYU-Hawaii moved to 8-18, 4-12 PacWest, while Academy of Art went to 10-11-1, 6-2.
Seasiders men’s golfers finish tied for sixth
The Brigham Young-Hawaii men’s golf team finished tied for sixth after carding a 33-over-par 897 at the NDNU Argonaut Invitational on Tuesday in Livermore, Calif.
Chico State won the 18-team tournament with a two-day total of 13-over 877 at Poppy Ridge Golf Course.
The Seasiders’ top finisher was Nicolas Herrera, who finished tied for fifth at 3-over 219.
Three from Hawaii win heats in Tahiti
Hawaii’s Noa Mizuno, Shayden Cruz-Pacarro and Finn McGill won their round-of-32 heats Tuesday during the Papara Pro Open in Taharu‘u Beach, Papara, Tahiti.
Fellow local surfers Eli Olson, Makai McNamara, Dylan Goodale and Kekoa Cazimero also advanced to the quarterfinals with runner-up finishes in their heats.
