High surf advisory in effect for north shores of all islands
A large north swell and breezy northwest winds have prompted weather officials to post a high surf advisory for the north shores of all islands.
The advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Friday. Surf heights are expected to reach 10 to 15 feet, officials at the National Weather Service said.
“Expect strong breaking waves, shorebreak and longshore and rip currents” that could make swimming hazardous, the weather service said.
