Three people are in custody after three police officers reported being assaulted in Waikiki, Waianae and Kailua this week.
A 36-year-old Kailua woman allegedly bit a police officer who had stopped and was arresting her for drunken driving just before 5 p.m. Thursday on Kaneohe Bay Drive.
A 23-year-old homeless man allegedly struck a 43-year-old officer at 6:50 p.m. Thursday on Kalakaua Avenue. Besides a first-degree assault charge involving a police officer, the man also was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.
A 26-year-old Waianae man was arrested at his home at 11:20 a.m. Thursday for allegedly assaulting a police officer a day earlier and fleeing.
Homeless suspect arrested in man’s death
A 39-year-old homeless man is in custody after his arrest on suspicion of manslaughter after the man he was fighting with died at the Keehi Boat Harbor on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect was also arrested on several outstanding warrants at the Queen’s Medical Center at about 5:30 p.m., several hours after the fight occurred, police said. No other details were immediately available.
