A $50 million “golf experience” called Topgolf Las Vegas is scheduled to open at the MGM Grand in May.
In addition to 108 hitting bays, the four-level, 105,000-square-foot attraction will include five bars, two kitchens, a concert venue, two swimming pools, a retail shop and Callaway club-fitting center, and private-event spaces. The complex will be behind the resort in the area where the theme park used to be.
Boulder book: The sports book at Boulder Station is the latest to get a major makeover. The old-style grease board has been replaced with a digital odds board, and bigger and more technologically advanced video walls have been installed. It’s part of a schedule of upgrades at several Station books, with Green Valley Ranch on line to be completed next, followed by Santa Fe, Sunset and Palace Stations.
Downtown slice: There’s a new place to grab a pizza downtown. Pizza Lotto at the El Cortez, in the spot that used to be the coffee shop, serves slices and full pies, along with Italian sandwiches and salads. A slice of cheese is $3 — less than slices at nearby Pizza Rock ($4) or the Plaza’s Pop Up Pizza ($3.25).
T&T: If you don’t mind the 10-mile drive west from the Strip, the new restaurant, Libre, at Red Rock Resort will make it worth your while. On “Taco & Tequila Tuesdays,” get unlimited tacos and tequila shots for $24. On second thought, you might want to cab it both ways.
