Isle flood advisories expire
A cold front that approached the islands from the northwest soaked Windward Oahu and Lanai and prompted weather officials to post flood advisories.
Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Lanai were under advisory until late Tuesday night.
Locations in the Maui advisory include Kaupo, Kipahulu and Nahiku on the Windward side.
Forecasters said radar showed rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
Motorists should exercise caution, especially in areas where there is poor drainage.
Lightning strikes are also a possibility.

“On Oahu where it’s pretty sunny right now, we’re going to see more clouds form over the interior of the islands,” said Ballard.
Ballard reminded hikers to pay attention, especially in areas near streams. “Conditions can change very rapidly,” she said.
The unsettled weather will likely continue through Friday, forecasters said.
Two more weather systems could approach the islands Wednesday into Thursday and on Friday.
In addition to the potential for heavy rain, forecasters expect humid conditions and vog to remain over the islands until tradewinds return.

we could use the water after a very dry winter
Eh! So what? You going to take the 3-minute oral Thesis challenge on April 16th?
Good ; I’ll take the free car wash.
gotta put out the brush fire for good.
Agree. Enough damage.
Mauka means possible flash floods toward the low lying areas, so “turn around don’t drown”.
Mauka is toward the mountains. Makai is sea side.
My guess is hikers will have to be “rescued” due to heavy rain and rising water.
Just Saying.
Hikers have to be rescued everyday, unfortunately. Just another day for Oahu.
Nice shot of a “flying rat” on frame 2.
Paahleeese rain my grass stay thirsty and turning brown!
S*A your stories are getting more and more outdated. This one is a good example. You edit your headline to say advisories canceled and include one line about it in your article, yet the rest of it is old content from when the advisories were still in effect.
You do this with many other stories as well. Makes it confusing as to what we are reading and the timeliness of it.
The Nanakuli fire was another. You had two stories/headlines running at the SAME TIME. One said the fires were out of control. The other said it was under control. Get with it please!!
My weather app predicted 100% chance of rain at 3 pm, We teed off at 330 and had nothing but great weather, no rain not hot. Guy Hagi, wrong again!
Good grief, this article is a mess. Flood advisories cancelled. By the way there are flood advisories in effect from Kailua northward.
Huh?
