Police said the driver of the vehicle reported the accident to Hilo police at 1 a.m.

Police have opened a negligent homicide investigation and have ordered an autopsy to determine cause of death.

The people in this area have no idea what good driving etiquette is! A perfect example would be, to watch the morning and afternoon rush.Watching them drive, & you’ll know, They havn’t a clue what YEILD means!! This is one of the reasons we now have a DASH CAM on our windshield!
We recently had a fatality on Highway 130. The NEW 4 lane traffic does help w/the congestion, but it also encourages those reckless Speed Demons..So??How many more fatalities do we need before the county steps in and start posting Police Officers in this area?? Hope our councilman Illigan and Representative/Senator Rudderman are listening.IMUA
