Zarkovic lifts No. 9 UH to volleyball victory

Senior hitter Siki Zarkovic put down a career-high 29 kills and No. 9 Hawaii turned back No. 14 Cal Baptist, 25-21, 25-20, 25-27, 18-25, 15-8 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Junior hitter Kupono Fey added 16 kills and 13 digs, and senior libero Kolby Kanetake 13 digs for the Rainbow Warriors (15-11, 10-11) who finish out the regular season Saturday with a 7 p.m. rematch against the Lancers (14-15, 6-15).

Leading Cal Baptist was senior hitter Rocky DeLyon, a Seabury Hall product, who had a career-high 19 kills. Roy Powell added 16 and Enrique de Diego Garcia 14 as the Lancers won the block war 20.5-13.

Kamehameha-Hawaii product Emmett Enriques, a freshman libero for Cal Baptist, finished with a match-high 17 digs

Hawaii has clinched the seventh seed in the MPSF quarterfinal on April 16 but its opponent won’t be determined until Saturday. Cal Baptist has a slim chance at being the eighth seed but needs to defeat the Warriors Saturday and have UC Irvine lose at Long Beach State.
