    Watch out for your bachi!

  2. allie says:

Really cruel. No reason for this kind of crime at all. But then, you know, it is Hawaii Island.

  3. DeltaDag says:

    No respect at all.

  4. sjean says:

probably tourists from the mainland. you know, the ones who are responsible for all local ills.

    • cojef says:

Could be, but have doubts. Some locals resent any imports??? As “Kaleboy” post bachi lasts forever. Desecration of grave site(iwi)also has severe implications!

  5. Shawn211 says:

I feel sorry for the idiots that did this. “KARMA”

  6. wrightj says:

That’s why graveyards are obsolete; gotta dig one hole, put the body in the hole, fill it up with dirt.

  7. Waipahunokaoi says:

Very sad. These vandals need to learn what “respect” is and that doesn’t mean a “tongue lashing.”

  8. MANDA says:

Big Island leaders need to step up. Statutes broken, cemeteries desecrated, government vehicles stolen, ice company vandalized, so many other property crimes. Get some opportunities over there!

  9. 808comp says:

You have those that steal urns and now trashing cemetery. They trash parks. Lots of people must be bored with nothing to do.

  10. roxie says:

I’ve seen society degrade in the last 10 or so years where “respect” is a thing of the past ….sad…sad….sad…

    • DeltaDag says:

“Polite society” today is not what it was then. If you have a good memory and are observant, you’ll pick out all sorts of everyday indicators. My favorite? After getting up from eating or studying, fewer and fewer adults push their chairs back in against tables in public places. Some poor soul has to do it for them just to clear the way.

And to preempt any snide remarks, I’m well aware that civil rights and the quest for equal justice have evolved quite a lot since AD 1950.

I hope the people who did this wise up or it will lead to more serious problems down the line.
