Kapolei High counselor arrested for soliciting minor for prostitution

COURTESY HPD

Kendrick Padilla

A 39-year-old Ewa Beach man who works as a counselor at Kapolei High School was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the West Oahu campus for allegedly soliciting a minor for prostitution.

A Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman said no other information could be released because the victim is a minor.

Kendrick Padilla, who has been licensed as a school counselor in Hawaii since 2009, was still in custody this afternoon and had not been formally charged. The offense he was arrested for is a petty misdemeanor, punishable by a maximum 30-day prison term.

A Department of Education spokesman said the school’s area superintendent temporarily reassigned the counselor to a position at the school where he won’t be directly working with students, effective today and until further notice.

He must have a hard time controlling his urges with his student. If true he must be fired immediately, hopefully the union won’t back him up.

Nothing new here folks, in the morally bankrupt State of Hawaii, soliciting a MINOR for prostitution is only a PETTY MISDEMEANOR!!!

  2. rcunitz says:

Soliciting a minor for prostitution is only a petty misdemeanor? Outrageous!

  3. dontbelieveinmyths says:

So, any kid can make an accusation against an adult at school and that person gets arrested. Then the paper plasters his face and identity all over the place. What happens if we find out it is not true? Don’t get me wrong. If this guy did this, he should be fired. I’m just wondering how is it fair that he is not even charged, and his life is potentially ruined. How about getting some background on the accuser, to see if he or she is a trouble-maker in school?

Unless you happen to know noheawilli personally, there’s nothing hypocritical about his remark. You do believe in the most sacred principle in the American criminal justice system, don’t you? If not, then what kind of justice system would you prefer to live with?

Facts are HE was arrested for an alleged crime. Of course if it was a priest or christian pastor you guys would be getting out the lynching rope and looking for a tree. Unfortunately adults with power over kids can be pervs to the max. Glad he got identified with his first dabbling in this perversion. Oh wait, since 2009…………………no need to be afraid kids, you can come out and tell your stories of this person. Wait again, are they teaching kids to read still??? He should be good to go then, only accused once.
