2 lanes of Ala Wai Boulevard opened as crews repair water main
Board of Water Supply crews completed repairs on the road and a 16-inch main that broke on Ala Wai Boulevard between McCully Street and Kalakaua Avenue.
Police reopened the road at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
The main, near the Waikiki Landmark building, broke at abut 7:30 p.m. Thursday night and closed all lanes of Ala Wai through Friday morning, when repairs progressed to the point where two lanes could be opened.
The main was installed in 1979.

The terrible mistake made by spending so much on rail and so little on infrastructure will continue to haunt Honolulu for decades to come.
I wonder how many people are affected by this. In a previous story, we found out that one customer can be a multi office high rise building….this one is probably 4 high rise hotels.
It’s amazing that THE MAYOR, THE CITY/COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBERS, THE GOVERNOR, THE STATE LEGISLATORS even have the AUDACITY to show THEIR FACES IN PUBLIC. They are COLLECTIVELY THE MOST DESPICABLE, MALFEASANT, CORRUPT, IGNORANT, AND NEFARIOUS PERSONS ON THIS PLANET. IMPEACH ALL OF THEM, ORDER A “RICO” INVESTIGATION, AND INDICT ALL OF THEM PERSONALLY AND IN THEIR REPSECTIVE (STOLEN) CAPACITIES. AND, TAKE “THE RAIL” AND SHOVE IT UP THEIR RESPECTIVE BACKSIDES!!!
