Power outage stops play for 40 minutes at Vegas Strip resort
LAS VEGAS » An official says a 40-minute power outage interrupted casino play and hotel registration at the Mandalay Bay resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
MGM Resorts International spokeswoman Yvette Monet says no one was injured and no evacuation was needed before electricity was restored today about 12:30 p.m.
She says the casino area was secured by hotel guards and the cause of the glitch was being investigated.
NV Energy spokeswoman Jennifer Schuricht says there was an outage reported at the time in the area.
Details weren’t immediately available.
Mandalay Bay has about 3,200 hotel rooms in a 64-floor tower at the south end of the Strip.
Monet says operations weren’t affected at the adjacent Delano hotel, the Four Seasons resort or the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
