University of Hawaii officials are advising motorists to anticipate traffic congestion on the H-1 freeway near the university offramps and side streets surrounding the Manoa campus during spring commencement today.
The undergraduate ceremony will run from 9 a.m. to noon and advanced degrees from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. Doors for the undergraduate ceremony will open at 7:45 a.m. and at 2 p.m. for advanced degrees. Officials will close the doors to the Stan Sheriff when the arena reaches capacity. Guests also can view the ceremonies at Les Murakami Stadium.
The university expects about 2,500 students to participate in the ceremonies.
After the ceremonies, guests will be able to greet undergraduates whose last names begin with A through N and all advanced-degree graduates at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. Undergraduates whose last names begin with O through Z will be at Les Murakami Stadium.
Parking is free and first come, first served. Shuttles will be available at various locations.
