Second strong quake strikes Ecuador; no tsunami threat to Hawaii
MADRID » The U.S. Geological Survey has reported that a second strong earthquake in less than nine hours has hit Ecuador. However, there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
The latest quake, measuring magnitude 6.8 struck 14.9 miles northwest of Rosa Zarate, Ecuador at a struck at a depth 19.3 miles at 6:46 a.m. Hawaii time this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The agency reported the earlier temblor as a 6.7-magnitude earthquake centered 21.1 miles west-northwest of Rosa Zarate, Ecuador, near the Pacific coast area where a devastating quake hit on April 16.
The much larger magnitude 7.8 earthquake killed 660 and initially left tens of thousands homeless.
Ecuador was already struggling economically before the April disaster. President Rafael Correa has hiked taxes to fund the recovery but says it will take years to rebuild the beach towns and tourist hubs leveled by the quake.

Like the many after-quakes in Japan numbering in excess of a thousand, Ecuador will experience more quakes. Both countries are being subjected extraordinary economic and health issues. In Japan individuals living in their autos are experiencing a high rate blood circulation problems. In Ecuador the problem iis the lack of funding to provide services to the displaced.
I was there for the last one . It was very scary. Those poor people.
