The Hawaii franchisee for Virginia-based Five Guys Burgers and Fries has begun the process of hiring at least 50 full- and part-time employees for its first Oahu store at the Town Center of Mililani.
The opening date has not been set, according to franchisee Amannda Schneider. “I’m saying the third week of June. We don’t yet have the exact date, but we’re working hard to get that,” she said.
The next Oahu location, at Ka Makana Alii in Kapolei, is slated to open in mid- to late August, and it is likely some management candidates who apply for positions in Mililani could be considered for the Kapolei store.
“We always open with a minimum of 50 employees,” she said. “We’re not looking for one set of managers, but two.
“All of our managers we train and promote, so somebody can come in with no background in anything, and we will work with them and get them all the information and skills they need,” she added.
While Schneider did not disclose rates of pay, she called them competitive, and said “we also have something called secret shoppers,” whose reviews can boost employees’ paychecks.
Applicants are asked to email applications to Mililani@fiveguysnww.com and await word about scheduling an interview.
Schneider will open between six and 10 Five Guys stores in Hawaii and has some possible locations “in the queue,” including neighbor island sites that could be “fourth- or fifth-type locations,” she said.
