Hawaii island police are seeking information about a burglary in Honokaa on March 27.
Police said the break-in occurred at a home on the 45-300 block of Lehua Street in the Haina Camp area between 1 and 9 p.m. March 27.
The stolen items included electronics, power tools, silver dollar coins, a Booker T. Washington commemorative 50-cent piece and a black Cordoba electric guitar with abalone shell, police said.
Police ask anyone with information about this case or the location of the stolen items to call the Police Department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311 or contact officer Gregg Karonis at 775-7533. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
Snorkeler dies despite efforts by lifeguards
A male snorkeler died Saturday after being found floating in the water about 20 yards from Kamaole Beach Park II in Kihei, Maui police said Monday.
After lifeguards brought the man to shore, they conducted CPR on the man but were unable to revive him, police said. The incident was reported at 11:25 a.m. Saturday.
The man was taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center emergency room, where he was pronounced dead.
Identification is pending notification of family members. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
