Liliha shooting suspect charged with assault

Police have charged Jorge Cano Jr. with second-degree assault.

Honolulu police charged a man who was the subject of a five-day manhunt with second-degree assault instead of attempted murder in connection with a June 3 shooting in the Liliha area.

In addition, police on Friday charged Jorge Cano Jr., 37, with kidnapping, first- and third-degree sexual assault, using a firearm to commit the crimes and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Cano’s bail is $1 million.

Cano is on probation for 2015 felony drug and drug paraphernalia possession convictions, and was wanted for allegedly violating the terms of conditions of his probation. A state judge issued a $20,000 bench warrant for Cano’s arrest May 17.

Police arrested Cano Wednesday, near the Hawaiian Humane Society. They said Cano shot a 37-year-old man twice in the stomach during an argument. Police said the victim fled but later returned, then went to by ambulance to a hospital in serious condition.

It was during the shooting investigation when police said they learned of the sexual assaults. They said Cano sexually assaulted a 27-year-old woman on May 29 in a residence near where Cano was later arrested. The woman had not reported being sexually assaulted. When police contacted her, they said she told them Cano had also kidnapped her.

So, why wasn’t he charged with attempted murder or other more serious crimes?

He looks like one of those protestors at one of Trumps rallies. Viva La Mexico. Send him to a Mexican prison.

Another one of obama’s “Dreamers” bringing their problems to the 50th state. They’re here, folks. Adding to an already bloated criminal element. But, they’re only here to improve their lives, eh?

So did this guy have the CCW that the gun control advocates think we should not have?

Once a criminal always a criminal, when will our lenient judges learn than reforms don’t work. Bring back death penalty.
