Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kapolei in which a man was critically injured tonight.

Emergency Medical Services transported the man in his mid-20s in critical condition to a hospital, said Ian Santee, spokesman for the Emergency Services Department.

At about 6:20 p.m., police closed the H-1 westbound lanes of the Kualakai offramp due to the investigation.

The initial call for the incident was for one vehicle that had flipped over, police dispatch said.

The lanes were reopened at 8:11 p.m.
