Catamaran owner to have salvage company pull boat off reef off Ala Moana

    A catamaran remained stranded on the reef near the Ala Moana Bowls surf spot after it got stuck Sunday evening.

The owner of a 35-foot catamaran, which got stranded on a reef near the Ala Moana Bowls surf spot Sunday evening, will seek the help of salvage company to free it, the Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard said 14 people were aboard the vessel. No injuries were reported.

Rescue workers assisted in transporting 14 people to shore. The captain of the vessel and another person opted to remain on the boat overnight.

There were no signs of pollution, the Coast Guard said.
