  • WE need Stricter Motorcycle License Laws. Looks like alot of motorcycle riders don’t belong driving motorcycles. This is NO different than the Democrats who did the sit-in for more gun restrictions in which Paul Ryan cracked into. My condolences the motorbike rider, his family and friends. The Government should be doing something about owning motorcycles

    • Exactly. This “free country” thing just isn’t working out, is it? :/

He was 32 yrs old. Are you proposing an age law? No one above 30 then? This guy died going west on H1. Maybe a law to prevent motorcycles from going West on days that begin with “S” ?

      • I owned a motorcycle and laws didn’t apply to me, especially after drinking. Then I grew up, kinda.
A bike can go from 0 to 120 in 3 blocks. The problem is it goes from 120 to 0 in 10 blocks. We need longer blocks.

      • So how much freedom do you want? And how much freedom are you willing to give up? How much freedom do you think you should be limited to–without exception? You cannot arbitrarily whine whenever the freedom you crave in an instance doesn’t exist. Be very careful for what you wish for. If you want to experience less freedom, then travel to a Socialist or Communist run country and sample their…freedom. It would make you crave the freedom you have right now. Have a Happy and Safe Independence Day.

    • I feel for the family of the young man… But We all should understand that we live in a country that has a independent states that has each different laws. Which means every state is responsible for its own. This State has halfbackwards thinking in a lot of the laws that is created. Car is required to have seat belts and we drivers has to wear it by law but Motorcycle riders is not required by law to wear helmet… The reason why has to do with HPD and Inside Boys and few other Special Interests which is a another matter that has to be discuss in another day… Going back to the point, Is We can’t have it both ways. You want your freedom then You as a individual citizen of this state needs to take your own responsibility and decided More laws (which is taking your “Freedom” away) or you take a chance and risk the possibility dying younger by riding the motorcycle in a careless or abusive reckless way. I don’t think we need any more laws. But If you think the laws that applyied now is not good then be a politian or petion and get enough signatures and get it on the ballot. I’am not even a motorcycle rider or anything. Remember… More laws is the way to how Our Freedom’s gets cast away slowly, in few generation all the Rights and Freedom We enjoyed will be vanished forever. Be Vigilant, Stay Vigilant.

      • He died doing what he liked to do. Zipping down the freeway in the middle of the night is a complete rush, he knew what he was doing.
Should live in a cocoon with our computers so we can complain about what “everybody else” is doing wrong and die a slow unadventurous life?

  • 2:36 AM … Bruddah was probably “hauling okole” … work in the area and over 90% of the motorcycles I see are “hauling” … that is a straight stretch of road till just past the Hawaiian Air tarmac when it curves right …

  • Lots of opinions with few facts. He was riding at night. He was wearing a helmet. Everything else s conjecture. Let’s just share our condolences with his family and friends. Keep our minds open until there are more facts. Maybe he did something foolish. Maybe he just hit a sandy spot on a curve not visible in the dark. Maybe something else. We don’t know. All we know is a 32 year old son, friend and maybe brother is dead. G_d bless.

    • There are NO ‘sandy spots’ on the Nimitz viaduct or W bound airport freeway onramp that enters the viaduct. This story of a motoryclist dying in a single vehicle crash on the weekend early in the morning on the H1 viaduct during the ‘bewitching hours’ is nothing new on Oahu. The reason why this often happens on the viaduct is because it is one of the very few sections of any Oahu highway or freeway that is long, wide and straight enough that a motorcyclist can attempt to reach the maximum limits of his motorcycle in terms of speed and acceleration or perform stunt manuevers like a wheelie.

    • KITV news been showing the area of the onramp going to the airport where he didn’t negotiate the curve, hit the cement barrier (showed tire mark) and he went OVER the barrier, landing below.

  • I have seen so many bikers zooming past me on the freeway. The helmet will not help him if he crashes. I just don’t want to see his mutilated body missing an arm or a leg as I drive by his crash site. Maybe he doesn’t care for his life but what about the innocent souls that he crashes into?
