KBS World, channel 80 on Oceanic Time Warner Cable (which recently merged with Charter Communications) and channel 23 on Hawaiian Telcom, will be getting a digital upgrade this month. The system will be fully upgraded to SD (serial digital), which will improve the video and audio quality.
The scheduled upgrade is set for Tuesday. There might be potential short, intermittent loss of video that day. What you will end up with is a cleaner, crisp video and audio by the end of the day. This upgrade is the second step in the master plan of upgrading the family of channels operated by KBFD. KBFD transitioned to high definition on May 11, 2015.
